A list! I love lists!
- Annoying: the word “fat.” It is so subjective, and people who are heavier than other people get annoyed when the smaller people use it to describe themselves (myself included), but what about the people that are heavier than I am? Are they annoyed by me? Probably. Let’s just strike it from the lexicon (that’s the word I’m looking for, right?).
- Awesome: It is Friday and it is supposed to be 80* here today. I love warm weather in Duluth!
- Annoying: Our new computer system at work that was supposed to simplify things has made them infinitely more complicated. Right when we have a bunch of people out of the office for extended periods of time. Not anyone’s fault really, but annoying none-the-less.
- Awesome: Ryan just stopped by my work. He needed stamps, so it wasn’t really a social visit, but it was fun to see him during the day. :)
- Annoying: There are 20,000 extra people in town this weekend, which makes it difficult to go out to eat or drive pretty much anywhere.
- Awesome: My sister and her children are coming to visit and they get here tomorrow! We are going to hang out with them down at their campground tomorrow afternoon/evening, so we won’t be in town where it is all crazy.
- I can’t think of anything else annoying, other than having to be at work in general on such a nice day, but even that I don’t mind so much.
- Awesome: It is almost lunch time, and I have a Lunchable for lunch! How many times can I say lunch in one sentence?! And yes, I am 12. I like Lunchables (only the crackers/cheese/meat ones). So sue me.
- Awesome: James is wearing a cute shorts all in one thing today, and he’s so adorable. And he was smiling at Ryan and I this morning, and he just makes my heart melt. And after I pick him up after work I get to spend ALL WEEKEND with him. Yay!
- Annoying: You didn’t think I could go one entry without talking about how adorable my baby is, did you? ;-)
Some friends of ours that we haven’t seen in a few months came through town tonight on their way home. We were able to have dinner with them as well as a bunch of our other friends from college that still live in town. It was a nice evening of visiting and laughing. Plus I didn’t have to cook or do the dishes, so that was good news too.
It is interesting to think how things have changed since we all graduated college. People are buying or have already bought houses, and a couple of them are already having kids (I like how I say “already,” even though we are in our late 20s. We aren’t that young). It makes me happy that we still hang out with these people, that even though the things that brought us together (college, pep band) are over, we are still friends. I just wish we all had time to get together more often.
We went camping last weekend and it was great. We had a lot of fun, and the weather was mostly nice. It did rain on Saturday afternoon for a couple of hours, but other than that it was alright. Ryan took a bunch of pictures, and I got him to actually take some of the people that we were camping with, so I’ll try to post some later this week if I have time. It is Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth this weekend, and one of Ryan’s high school friends is running in the marathon and staying with us, so we’ll have a busy weekend. There are usually about 50,000 extra people in town the weekend of the race…we’ll see how it goes this year. I plan on staying in the house as much as possible, other than when we walk down to watch Trent run past. I’ll try to get some photos of the race too.
