Day 17- Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why
Oct 19th
I like my life for the most part, so have no real desire to switch places with anyone. But if it was just for a day, I think I would like to switch with someone who works for President Obama. I have thought occasionally about getting involved in local politics, but especially with a baby at home I don’t want to commit that kind of time, and I get so sick of political ads and the attitudes behind them. But I have a lot of respect for President Obama, and I would love to know what it’s like to work at the White House in general. I wouldn’t want any job that is too important (what if I screwed something up!?), but just to be some sort of aide or something would be awesome.
Day 15- Put your iPod on shuffle: First 10 songs that play
Oct 17th
I don’t have an ipod, but here’s what itunes pulls up:
1. Give Her Lovin’ – The Kingsmen (Best of The Kingsmen)
2. Wild West Show – Big & Rich (Horse of a Different Color)
3. The Collector – Nine Inch Nails (With Teeth)
4. Do You Love Me – KISS (Greatest KISS)
5. Dead & Broke – Godsmack (Faceless)
6. Leather Rebel (LIVE) – Judas Priest (Painkiller)
7. September Morn – Neil Diamond
8. Sweet Home Alabama – Lynyrd Skynyrd (The Best of Lynyrd Skynyrd – The Millenium Collection)
9. On Our Way – Christina Aguilera (Back to Basics)
10. Paranoid (LIVE) – Ozzy Ozbourne (The Ozzman Cometh)
Hmm…I’m not sure if that really represents me well or not. I do have to say that a lot of “my” music isn’t on my iTunes, because I lost it several years ago, and just loaded most of Ryan’s music onto my computer to get things going. I don’t buy much for music (mostly listen to the radio/Pandora), so a lot of the stuff on my player is Ryan’s. If this was my music entirely I would expect more pop, alternative & country and less 70s/80s rock. Sweet Home Alabama, however, is one of my favorite songs ever, so I’m glad that that showed up.
Day 14- A picture of you and your family
Oct 16th
There you have it (at least part of it; I have a HUGE extended family, but no recent pictures of most of us (on either side) together.
Attention: Halloween Costume 2010 has been decided
Oct 14th
Unfortunately for you, you will have to wait until it is complete/after the party to see it! Muahahahahahaha. Here’s a hint:
I will tell you, though, that I am making a dessert inspired by the cupcakes on this post. Dirt cake, with little doll hands poking up out of it. Creepy! Delicious! Everything a halloween dessert should be!
Day 12- How you found out about Blogger and why you made one
Oct 14th
I heard about WordPress while reading other blogs. It appealed to Ryan’s sense of wanting to control the hosting of the website, and ability to change things up. Obviously we haven’t really taken advantage of the changing stuff. One day I’ll learn how to do that…
Just a quickie today. Happy Thursday!
Day 11- Another picture of you and your friends
Oct 13th
Friends at a wedding in Delaware in 2007

Another photo from the same wedding.

UMD Pepband - Alumni weekend 2006. That's me in the purple shirt, and Ryan next to me in the jersey.
These photos are older, but represent some more of my excellent friends. Also, proof that I can (kind of) play an instrument. The reason I’m wearing that purple shirt has to do with a joke between some of my high school friends and me. I was wearing UMD apparel most of the evening. ;-)
Day 10- Songs you listen to when you are Happy, Sad, Bored, Hyped, Mad
Oct 12th
Happy: Pop music; stuff from the Cast of Glee (my favorite Pandora station lately is seeded with “Glee Cast” as the main influence). Also, I was just reminded by my lovely husband, who hooked me up so I can listen to our media server music at work, that I LOVE the Arrogant Worms. Don’t go into Politics. You’ll end up dead. He was trying to talk to me about how to use the computer, and I was just laughing as I listened to this song. It will make you laugh too. Or think I’m insane. Whatever.
Sad: Country music. Especially older stuff if I’m homesick; Daddy’s Hands, Old Hippy, anything that reminds me of home and growing up.
Bored: Whatever is on the radio/Pandora. Or I listen to the most recent podcast of Car Talk or Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me.
Hyped: Stuff from musicals/classic rock type stuff/anything I can belt out while dancing around the apartment. Katy Perry, that song that sounds like the “I see London, I see France” children’s taunt, whatever else is on the local pop radio station that’s not slow. Also some country music, if I’m going out with my sisters. Family Tradition, Redneck Woman, Before He Cheats. Shooter Jennings if I’m going to hang out with my high school friends (Put the O Back in Country cd especially, although I LOVE his Black Ribbons cd, MC’d by Stephen King!).
Mad: Alternative/Rock stuff. Puddle of Mudd, Bloodhound Gang, Theory of a Dead Man, whatever’s playing on 94X.
Things that make me happy: my car edition
Oct 11th
I logged into our bank account this morning, and saw this:
Do you see that? That is how much is left to pay on my car before it is all mine! I am so excited about this, it’s kind of unreasonable. But thinking about how much we can save/pay off other bills if we don’t have a car payment will do that to a person.
Now if we can just make the (very small) car last…
Happy Monday, folks!
