I'm with your mom. I was pregnant when we were too naive to know what to really worry about. Or maybe it was just small town living with small town doctors, who knows?? Take it easy, enjoy this time, it'll be gone before you know it. All will be good. Love you!

I also agree with your aunt that your OB will appreciate that you've done your part of the work in finding the easy(ier) answers. And I like what your mom said about not over-worrying because I think that is great advice and good for baby and mother.

Good luck with your appetite, maybe your baby just loves ice cream. Hey at least there is some calcium in it!

I don't think you need to have a million questions. Ask the things that are on your mind and don't worry about the rest. You're right, with all the books and everything about pregnancy, a lot of your questions are already answered.

And yes, writing down questions is a great idea when you go to the doctor. I always do that with my surgeon, my endocrinologist, and the vet (for Montana, obviously).

Becky, your OB will love you! I think you're taking the perfect approach. Save your questions for when you have real ones that only your doctor can answer and he/she will probably take a lot more time and care in answering them.
Advice for pregnancy? Sleep in as much and as often as you can. Be as physically active as is reasonable and comfortable (it really does make a difference!) Don't get too hung up on acquiring "gear." A few essentials and quality basics (crib, car seat/stroller, changing table, sling/carrier, and a boat load of diapers) will get you started, and the rest will come as gifts, as needed, or as desperate purchases from Target at 11PM when you realize that you really do need a digital thermometer that works. (I write from experience on that one.) I was a huge checklist fiend when I was pregnant with Joe - YOU MUST HAVE THESE FIFTY ITEMS BEFORE BABY ARRIVES!!! - and we ended up with drawers full of stuff we never really used.
As your mom says, you're a smart woman, so you're going to do great. Get ready; this is going to be the adventure of a lifetime!

OK. Here comes the 1st "mom" advice. Do what makes sense to you, don't worry too much, keep your lifestyle as much the same as possible. The questions will come to you as you go along. You're right, you have had plenty of people around to sort of know what to expect, so you may not have many questions. That's OK! I always joked about being lucky to have my children back when we were to naive to worry about all the things people worry about now. But there is an iota of truth to that. I think some mom's get too hung up on trying to be perfect & worry themselves to death. You have a ton of common sense, you're a smart woman & you will do just fine! I love you!
