Is someone talking about food?
We are watching this show on the History channel about what happens after we all die, and I was reading pretty much the funniest blogger ever, so I wasn’t really paying attention. And then I heard something about collapsing pancakes, and I was like, “WHAT!? That sounds yummy but dangerous. I bet they are very dense.” And then I turned to the TV and realized they said “pancake collapse” which is totally different.
Also, apparently I’ve been reading that blog too much because I’m telling stories in that style. Which I love, so I’m not sure why I care.
ps. Does anyone else have a crush on Mike Rowe (watch the video – for real)? Because I do. This would seem much less random if you were watching TV with me right now.

Is the show that “after people” one? Pat and I have watched it too and, while I love the concept and think it’s fascinating, I hate how they use the uber-expressive, doomsday-guy voice for the narration. If it’s the one I’m thinking of, it’s based on a book, so I think I should just read that.
“Collapsing Pancakes.” Funny.

Death, pancakes, whatever. I love Mike Rowe. In fact, Ed just called from a hotel the other night after watching a Dirty Jobs marathon and said “All women must just love this guy.” Yup, we do.

It is the After People one – and I agree…it’s not as good as I hoped it would be. I didn’t know it was based on a book, though. Do you know what the book is titled?
And Uncle Ed is smart – women do love the guy.

It’s called, “The World Without Us” by Alan Weisman. I don’t know if the History Channel show is technically based on it, but it’s the same premise.

So if Ed is traveling for work, where does he have time to watch television show marathon’s?

Two things:
Ed and I read “The World Without Us” and it’s fascinating.
We don’t have cable so when Ed is in a hotel room in the evening, he’s all about the shows.

I thought you should know that like Mike Rowe, Dave’s dad has bitten the testicles off of sheep. I found out about it one night after dinner with them. His dad was an Agriculture major and experienced it in class. But it was very interesting to get another perspective on the experience!
