I would love to go back to that life as long as I made as much as I do now and tuition were free. Wait… that’s kind of what I’m doing, only without all the friends. You all need to get on top of getting a job at the university! ;)

ok first, thank heavens you are back to posting. i was starting to think i needed to look into your situation of well-being! second, i can’t say i’m that hooped up about college. yes, it was fun hanging out with my friends, sleeping on the couches in the student union, and eating papa john’s pizza as many tuesdays as possible. oh yeah, driving the zamboni was fun, too! but as i’ve debated what to do with my life from here on out one thing that i can say i don’t want to do is go back to school. my goal was to have all my school loans paid off in 3 years after graduation. i did it and have NO DESIRE to be that in debt ever again!!! also, i studied more in college than i ever did in high school and still managed to fail plenty of exams. what’s up with that?? its not that i’m anti-learning. i’d be all for it if someone wanted to teach me something outside of a classroom – without tests and grades. i’m not sure what i want to do, but i know at least one thing i don’t want to do!

I get nostalgic for college. It’s pretty much the only thing I get nostalgic about. I loved it, too. In fact, I went to my hometown (where I went to college) last month for my grandmother’s memorial service and the only thing I MADE SURE HAPPENED was that I got to the college bookstore so I could buy a college sweatshirt that I never had the money for when I was in college. Now I have a college sweatshirt, my three oldest kids have college sweatshirts, my youngest has a college T-shirt (there were no sweats in size 2T), my husband has a college ball-cap and I have a college coffee mug and car window sticker. I may have gone a little overboard, but I MISS IT. And I graduated 16 years ago. Walking the campus, all I could think was that when my kids were grown and moved out, I was going back to school.

Believe it or not, the more years that pass since college, the more nostalgic I get for the work and my professors! The social life, not so much, but I’d love to go back and sit in on some of my classes, especially if I could do it knowing what I know now.
